Tom is spearheading the effort at protoCapital to build a first-class private finance business.  His main objective is to facilitate exposure, provide advisory services, and co-investment opportunities in emerging asset classes for accredited investors.  ProtoCapital, a division of the long-standing broker/dealer AK Capital, specializes in social impact, direct lending, real estate, digital assets, hedge funds, fund-of-funds, direct lending, renewable energy, cannabis and e-gaming.

Tom was a cornerstone in creating the premier credit business on Wall Street at JPMorgan Chase from 1997-2017. As a leader in sales and trading he built the firm’s top hedge fund relationships and distributed the firm’s most formidable deals and structures in the credit business.  Tom was the top producing salesperson for the global credit business and raised over $200bn for corporate bond and loan issuers across all sectors since 2004.

Tom was instrumental in JPMorgan’s leadership, expansion and dominance in credit derivatives and other new products across the market.  Since 2001, Tom not only traded and sold these product and services to his clients, he was also responsible for educating many of the firm’s top clients on uses and applications of many cutting-edge products developed over the past two decades.

Tom’s comprehensive background and expertise in capital markets, credit and capital structure analysis along with his broad understanding of risk puts his team in a uniquely strong position to identify, evaluate and distribute risk in these nascent and underserved markets and asset classes.  His extensive trusted network of seasoned partners helps solidify protoCapital’s position as a premiere financial service provider in these markets.

Tom is an active member on the board of directors of Stepping Stones Museum for children as well as the parent’s association at Rye Country Day School.
